Updated: How Hala Gear’s Handling COVID-19
Updated March 23, 2020
Hala Family,
The rapidly changing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is a source of uncertainty for all of us. We know you’re concerned and so are we.
At times like this communication is key. I’m writing today to share what we’re doing in response to this public health crisis and to let you know how we’ll continue to provide you with the high level of support and service you’ve come to expect from us at Hala Gear.
The health and safety of our community—our employees, customers, and partners—is our top priority.
Based on the guidance of public health experts, we’ve asked our employees to work remotely and to utilize Hala's flexible leave policy if needed. We are retaining a core group of shipping and receiving employees at our warehouse in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Before we went fully remote, we sanitized our entire Headquarters, including our retail store Hala GearSpace. Despite reducing our employee movement within our HQ building to zero, we will continue to sanitize our offices on a bi-weekly basis.
Our warehouse employees have sanitized our warehouse and are abiding by a strict and frequent sanitation schedule. These employees are practicing social distancing and are in limited contact with the public. In addition to these efforts, we are staggering some warehouse work shifts so that we can further limit face to face interaction.
We have canceled all work-related travel throughout the United States and abroad.
Despite our remote (and very clean!) status, Hala Gear is committed to providing Class V service to you all through several technologies we've been building upon for the past year.
Our shipping and customer service departments are maintaining normal working hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST. These hours extend to our phone line 970-439-0047, and our website Chatbox.
During the off-hours, we are available intermittently via Facebook Messenger and Instagram DMs. Feel free to reach out whenever – we would love to help you find a way to get out and paddle during these times of social distancing.
We hope to see you out on the water soon. In the meantime, try to enjoy the simple pleasures of life and our beautiful outdoor spaces.
Forever Grateful for this community,
Peter Hall & crew.
