I recently took the new Hala Straight Up on a trip to Punta de Mita, Mexico, and it absolutely delivered in every way. From paddling out in calm waters to catching some fun waves, this board handled everything I threw at it.
Stability: Right away, I noticed how solid and balanced it feels. Even in choppy conditions, it provided a super stable platform, making it great for both casual cruising and more dynamic paddling.
Rocker: The updated rocker profile is dialed in perfectly—it keeps the nose from pearling when riding waves but still tracks well on flat water. It’s a great balance between playfulness and efficiency.
Glide: For an inflatable, the glide is impressive. It moves smoothly across the water without feeling sluggish, making long paddles enjoyable and effortless.

I bought the SUP at the end of our season. I recently retired and moved up to Washington State . I always wanted to paddle board and finally found someone to take me and it was so much fun. So I bought the SUP. It’s beautiful by the way and pretty easy to set up.Unfortunately it was at the end of the season and I was unable to get anyone I new to go out in the colder weather with me. I packed it up and can’t wait to try it out as soon as I can next spring:blush:.
My new board is awesome! So smooth and easy to maneuver. I love the ease of unpacking and packing back up. It has been great for bringing along on our camping trips and not taking up much room. Highly recommend.
Board is easy to inflate. Very stable in Lake conditions. Lots of fun for this senior citizen and his grandchildren.

I purchased this as a surprise gift for my wife. She loved it.
We had a Straight Up that had seam issues and finally blew out on a seam this summer. Contacted Hala support and they offered a very attractive replacement discount. Very happy with the board. Was a bit surprised that the small side fins are not removeable as in the previous version we had. That would have allowed use of different fins but as long as the large fin is installed it works great.

My husband and I purchased two Straight up boards as a fun gear addition to our outdoor lifestyle. We loved having these boards during the heat wave this summer in the PNW. While everyone was headed to their favorite watering hole to beat the heat. The Straight up gave us the portability we desired to get away from the crowds and enjoy the water. Plus, the Hala package makes it super easy to have all the items you need to get you out on the water without thinking oh I need to buy this... so I can do this.. I have recommended this board to friends and family and continue to be proud to rock the Hala board here in the PNW.
This is the second board I have purchased from Hala and I love it just as much as my first board (carbon Hoss). I got this board for when I am out on my own (I use my Hoss for paddling with my kids and dog). It is a great all around board. Definitely worth the money!
This is a an excellent board for various conditions. Great on rivers, lakes and oceans. This package includes an Adjustable Carbon Paddle, SUP Backpack, Fin, a Hand Pump and a Repair Kit which makes it a really good deal. I have no regrets on purchasing this package!
