Board Tech Details – We’re obsessed to deliver the best!

Glide Rocker
Hala’s glide rocker features a mellow nose rocker, a flatter middle for speed, and just enough tail rocker for responsiveness in any environment. Feel the speed. Learn more about Hala’s rockers.
Carbon Construction™
You get an elite board that performs like a hardboard with the portability and durability of an inflatable. This is not your run of the mill stringer technology. These boards have measured up to three times more rigid in flex testing than your standard inflatable. Unidirectional Carbon + Fusion Drop Stitch is combined with aramid fibers and compressed at 200,000lbs by an extremely high-end machine in California. But don’t just take our word for it, get on a board and feel the difference! Learn more about Hala’s board construction.

All-Around Shape
The outline of this board gives you the stability to feel confident on any water, with a sleekness that keeps you moving quick. Learn more about Hala’s board shapes.

Smaller Board Size
The Carbon Straight Up is a dynamic board that is great for those looking for more maneuverability or for smaller riders.

8 D-Ring Rigging Points
Triple-reinforced D-Rings provide rigging points to strap on your gear and keeps it secure as you paddle.

Leash D-Ring
A triple-reinforced D-ring is located on the back of the board to attach your leash onto. But remember, using a leash properly requires knowledge and attention.

One Front and One Back Rubber Handles
Carry this board easily with the help of a friend to and from the water while all your gear stays secured.

Foot index
Located just before the stomp pad is raised EVA on your deck pad. It is a small, centralized rectangle so you can easily step your foot back to the center of the board without ever taking your eyes off the water.

Stomp Pad
A 1.5” stomp pad allows for precise control and maneuverability of your board.

Travel-Ready Board
A board that can go anywhere, this board packs up and rolls out with you. Combined with any of our travel paddles, you’ll have the ultimate, portable setup for adventure.

Straight up awesome board! Had the opportunity to paddle one in CO last time I was out. Love the shape and size of the board. Tracked well in flat water and was super stable when we hit some rapids. Pretty easy to surf too! Probably the broad I recommend to most when they ask for the best all around board. Just a hoot to ride!

This board does it all. I’ve run rivers up to class III, surfed it in the ocean and toured flat water. The carbon stringer makes it super stiff and it’s durable, packable and fast. I couldn’t ask for more from an “all-around” board. If you’re looking for a single board that shreds in all conditions, this is it.

The Carbon Straight Up has unparalleled rigidity to any other inflatable. The carbon haul adds speed and combine the carbon sheath with the drop stitch technology for the ultimate stiff board. I was able to demo this board to an up and coming WV SUP instructor who needed a board she could travel with for an exam. She aced it.

The Carbon Straight Up was easy to maneuver, tracked well on flat water even when the winds picked up. Definitely a board I’d choose as a one quiver board that I could use on lakes, rivers and for SUP YOGA.

An incredible blend of stability and speed! Performance all around seems like an impossible category, but this board will make you a believer in the fabled quiver killer. The carbon stringer and glide rocker make this board stiff and fast. At 32″ wide it retains it’s ability to glide and adds stability. After paddling it on the swollen class III water of Gore Creek I can confidently say that this board is perfectly at home in whitewater as well. A well executed paddler’s dream!

My wife and I rented this board from 5280 paddle boards in Littleton CO for a camping trip, this board rocks! We have have been paddling for just over a year now and this the best board we have ridden so far. It was easy to turn, fast and stable like a longer board. I’m 6’1 and 210lb and had no problem with Ballance or getting used to the board. We where on the lake for over three hours and still had energy to paddle after riding this thing. I almost fell in the lake but the Hala board kept me afloat after some boat wake hit from behind. I can’t say enough great things about the Straight Up. we will definitely be investing in a couple Hala boards when spring hits next season! The quality of construction and ease of transport was awesome can’t say enough great things, if you’re considering investing in a paddle board definitely consider a Hala, we had a great experience with our rental board and hope own a couple of these in the near future.

I’ve been teaching SUP for years, using all hard boards for myself and my students. I wanted to make the switch to inflatables but the boards I invested in needed to feel and perform like a hard board. The first time I hopped on the Straight Up, I knew it was what I had been looking for! This truly is a one board quiver. It can do it all – surf, tour paddle, endurance paddle, river SUP…and more. It pivots, glides fast and paddles well upwind, no problem. It’s also a winner when it comes to SUP Yoga! Did I mention it’s also pretty to look at? :) Love the design. Plus, nothing beats rolling up your SUP and hitting the road for an adventure! I’m so totally sold on the HALA Straight Up, that I’m making the switch to all inflatables for my SUP school quiver. Love this board and LOVE HALA! If you are considering an iSUP, or ANY SUP for that matter, you cannot go wrong with this quality designed board.

This is a killer board. I have paddled white water kayaks for several years and have only recently gotten into SUPs. This board has made that transition super fun! The carbon straight up does an excellent job of tracking in flat watter thanks to the three fin combination. The glide rocker makes transitioning from flat water to white water feel effortless, not to mention you can remove the center fin for even more maneuverability when things get splashy. Finally the carbon construction gives the board a very rigid/hardboard stable feel. This is a really cool all around 1 quiver board.

Among my students, with a wide range of ability, the Straight Up is the first choice over and over again. This board glides ! And offers some serious fun for all.

Great board for a beginner to experienced paddler. With the carbon stringer you cant tell it is an inflatable. It feels just like a hard board. Great all around board from smaller waves, flat water, rivers doesn’t matter it performs on it all. I even carried multiple bags on the board and had no issues with stability. I have found that it tends to not steer true straight. The nose will glide a little towards the opposite side you’re paddling. One way to prevent this is to put weight on the front of your board. Which is perfect if you plan to take a day trip or longer expedition. So pack your extra gear and start your journey. With the extra weight on front of your board it will prevent the board from drifting side to side. Great board highly recommended.

This board is my new JAM, straight UP. I have been paddling for years, and have wanted to find an inflatable I love–which I’ve finally done!! The carbon strip on the top of the Straight Up makes it feel just like a hard board, with all the pros of an inflatable. I’ve only used it on flat water so far (TN rivers and lakes), but that’s with my 65 pound dog on front. So stable, but still so light. The pad is super comfy, to stand on your feet (or your head)! The adjustable paddle and bag on wheels round it out to the total package. Real good stuff, Hala. Can’t wait to put more miles on this thing!!

I love my board. Its easy to inflate but I also often just leave it inflated if I plan on going out on the water again soon. Its easy to steer through the current (I often paddle on the flat water river in my town), I can practice yoga on it, and its comfortable to be out on for hours at a time. All of the straps and tie-downs mean I can carry a picnic or gear for whatever other activity I’m planning. Its light enough to carry up and down the hill between the water and my car without much effort. All-around great board.

The Carbon Straight Up is one of my new all-time favorite boards, and quickly became my board of choice for guiding SUP tours this summer! Why? It’s wicked light, and super easy to lug around! It’s fast…for being more of an all-around/mostly flatwater board! It’s stability is spot on for it’s length and width! And, with the addition of carbon fiber stringers running the length of the board along the top and bottom, it’s very stiff and doesn’t have hardly any of that “inflatable bounce!”
