Whitewater Boards

The Original Inflatable Whitewater SUP  ·  Built & Refined Since 2011  ·  Patented StompBox Retractable Fin  ·  5-Year Warranty

15 Years. 50+ Prototypes. 1 Patented Fin.

Built to Perform on Rivers. Refined Over 15 Years.

Hala Gear has been building inflatable whitewater SUPs longer than any other brand. More than 50 prototypes and years of obsessive river testing produced the Atcha, the 9’6” shape the entire category eventually adopted. In 2015, Hala patented the StompBox retractable fin and solved the sport’s central problem: fins that catch rocks and stop boards dead in rapids. Independent reviewers now call the Atcha 96 “quite possibly the pinnacle of design for intense whitewater paddling” (Inflatable Boarder, 2025). The team who designed these boards paddles them every season.

The Boards Behind the Board Awards

Charge Series: Class II–IV Technical Whitewater

Charge Series boards are shaped for paddlers who want to push limits on moving water. High-rocker profiles, surf-inspired outlines, and the StompBox 2.5 give you constant tracking power through technical lines. The Atcha 96 (9'6″x36″) handles high flows, powerful hydraulics, and bigger surfers who want to charge the biggest waves on the river. The Atcha 86 (8'6″x34″) is quicker edge-to-edge for tight technical moves, river surfing on smaller features, and paddlers who want a nimble, responsive feel.

Adventure Series: River Expeditions and Fishing

Adventure Series boards are built to take you further. Greater volume, flatwater-to-river versatility, and expedition-ready rigging make these the choice for multi-day floats, remote canyon runs, and paddlers who want a single board that handles a moving-water paddle and a technical afternoon. The Rado is also our top pick for SUP fishing: rig it with a cooler and rod holder and you have everything you need.

How to Choose Your River Board
