The Atcha 96 is the original whitewater SUP. The unique outline is the product of a decade of refining how we shape inflatables for the river. It's a shape so good we couldn't just make one.
We landed on the shape by selecting the best of HEAPS of prototype shapes and then refining them into four identically-colored samples. We then had the best whiteware paddlers we know go through the paces on Shoshone, feeding back on every board.
The shape that WON was a clear winner, yet the shapes didn't look ALL that different. The blind taste test has helped us find the tastiest Atcha shape, ever.
It was a game of centimeters here and there. Our designs and technologies charge forward in inflatable technology and shape progression. Now, the best shape is combined with the StompBox 2 with a 9" retractable fin that delivers power to even the tiniest of SUP nuggets, like the Atcha 711.
The thesis of the Atcha 86 was to make a slightly more playful, on-the-fly surf-able version of the 96. That said, for smaller paddlers, the 86 does all the 96 does and more. For a larger paddler, the 86 is the perfect solution for class III water and surfing small pockets on the fly.
The 711! The dream whitewater SUP play board! The most sporty little whitewater stomping speed nugget anyone's ever made!
Atcha 96, Atcha 86, or Atcha 711 - Which is the right call?!
- The Atcha 86 hits a stability-meets-surf sweetspot. It wants you to stomp, spin, play, and drive.
- The Atcha 711 wants you to jib, surf, and weave. It still has that Stompbox-2-drive but there's a bit less speed and and a bit more spin, splat, ollie, and swerve.
- The Atcha 96 is our most stability-driven, maneuverable, and stout Atcha for charging whitewater, punching big holes, running higher volume rivers, and the original whitewater SUP board that will get you stoked and full of confidence and stomp.
