The new design is SICK!!! The rocker is Ridonculous!!! Way more than any other River SUP I’ve seen. Super stable and incredibly playful. Carves smoothly through eddy lines like a hot knife through butter. Fits on waves that previous 96s did not and makes paddling through big waves effortless. If you’re thinking of upgrading you should!

The 2025 Atcha is a must have for whitewater SUP enthusiasts! The Hala team updated the rocker, enhanced the shape of the nose, and refreshed the color scheme. The updated rocker accelerates the paddler in the waves providing a feeling of charging through the river. The enhanced nose shape breaks through the waves on the river so the paddler is not thrown forward. The new color scheme looks sharp on the river. Whether you’re looking to upgrade your whitewater board, or add another board to your quiver, the 2025 Atcha is the cat’s meow!
I'm not your normal paddleboard owner. I've got a garage with over 5 Hala's now. The Radito fills the gap between my Rado and the Atcha 96. This board is ready for overnighters or just an afterwork paddle. Small and playful enough to take to the river park, but big enough and with enough rocker to handle a multiday trip. Hala makes the best boards out there. I know, I've logged over 1000 river miles on Hala paddleboards.
I recently took the new Hala Straight Up on a trip to Punta de Mita, Mexico, and it absolutely delivered in every way. From paddling out in calm waters to catching some fun waves, this board handled everything I threw at it.
Stability: Right away, I noticed how solid and balanced it feels. Even in choppy conditions, it provided a super stable platform, making it great for both casual cruising and more dynamic paddling.
Rocker: The updated rocker profile is dialed in perfectly—it keeps the nose from pearling when riding waves but still tracks well on flat water. It’s a great balance between playfulness and efficiency.
Glide: For an inflatable, the glide is impressive. It moves smoothly across the water without feeling sluggish, making long paddles enjoyable and effortless.
Surfing Ability: I was surprised by how well this board surfs! It catches waves easily, and the maneuverability is solid for an inflatable. It’s obviously not a hardboard, but for travel and versatility, it’s a killer option for both flatwater and surf.
Overall, the Hala Straight Up is a travel-friendly, do-it-all board that shines in a variety of conditions. Whether you’re exploring the coastline, paddling into waves, or just enjoying a casual cruise, this board is a blast. Highly recommend!
Hala has done it again! This is the 5th generation of the Atcha 86 that I have paddled and it keeps getting better and better. The 2025 version has a pointer nose and slightly longer front rocker making it sportier, faster, better at punching holes, and more fun!
I'm pleasantly suprised how well the warranty dept delivers solutions. 10/10*
