I purchased this fin for my AquaGlide Chelan 120. Fit perfectly and this fin allows me to paddle the low section of my river. Excellent fin that has that flex I was looking for my application.
The fin is not blue, it is black. False advertising, very upset.
Most SYP's ship with an open water fin. This one works great for river touring where there are shallows to contend with. Adds adequate directional stability for paddling, because a SUP with no fin is essentially unusable!

just what I needed when the lake gets all the algae on it
I bought this to have as an option on my SUP when the water levels get lower. This thing works great, and has a much smaller profile than a standard fin, yet doesn't compromise tracking ability too much. The material has some "give" to it, so I'm not worried about scraping the bottom in those real shallow sections. One qualm - I was hoping for and expecting the 2-tone blue color as shown in the picture, but I was sent an all-black one. This was disappointing and felt a little like false advertising, but the function is there so I kept it.
Our weekend paddling is the Northernmost Headwaters of the Florida Everglades. It is not uncommon to come across fallen trees and debris after a good storm. We needed a lower profile fin that does not slow us down when chasing alligators.
The Hala 3 inch stubby flex fin has been great for paddling the creeks around me. It has allowed us to explore more of the smaller streams. When I do get 'hung up', it is not as jolting like it is with a stiffer fin. Highly recommend for whitewater and/or exploring those smaller creeks.
I got this fin to use in my board when I paddle shallow rivers. It was great! It still allowed me great tracking but I wasn't catching my fin on rocks all the time! Definitely recommend this fin if you're paddling shallow water!! Since I bought it I've used it a few times and its very durable!
Have only taken the fun out for a test drive once so far but did better than I expected. I went out flat water paddling to see how much I would turn compared to a longer fin and found that while you can notice a little difference it was very minimal.
