Where is your favorite place to SUP? 

The Yampa town run just never gets old for me.

Which board(s) are you riding? 

I love the 86 for down river/surf on the Yampa. The Radito is my favorite expedition board. And the Carbon Nass is just so fast on flatwater.

Tell us about your favorite paddling experience.

We did Gates of Lodore as a company trip two years in a row. The first year, I got my butt kicked SUPing Triplet Falls. I had to hop in a raft for Hell's Half Mile. The next year, I went back and cleaned Triplet and made some difficult moves that allowed me to get through Hell's, even if I swam a little bit.

What do you do when you are not on a SUP? 

Lots of volleyball, skiing, biking, hiking, camping, and time playing with family and friends.

Bonus Wisdom From Colleen

2020 was a real hard year. My dad's health was declining after years of strokes and the world was chaotic. My little brother and I really got into river SUP and did the Yampa town run at least once a day. Being on the river with him in the midst of it all really helped me put what matters in perspective. We played through the whole lockdown and heartache and had a blast learning a new sport together.

Now we paddle as much as we can. Being on the water and working for a company that encourages the lifestyle where we work hard/play harder has shifted the way I live my life. I'm so thankful for what SUP and Hala has brought to my life and love getting to help others get on the water as well.
