There is no comparison in build quality for the couple hundred buck SUPs online compared to a Hala. Very fast board compared to my Hala Rado. Although less stable. The Rado is a floating platform whereas the Carbon Hoss is nearly as big but significantly faster and lighter. This thing zips with little effort and is though enough to inflate to high psi and become very stiff. The downside is that it’s a little tougher to roll up and stow, but still just as fast to put away with a Shark pump. The other downside is the slightly awkward main fin removal, albeit very secure. I guess this is the price for speed!

We bought two and they are amazing. They are absolutely rigid and so well built. We had an issue with one of the boards but Hala shipped us a new one the same day. Great company to deal with.

Just got back from a trip to mexico with this board. The bag makes it easy to transport to and from the airport, and you can even stash extra stuff in it to help with your packing. Once in mexico, we SUP surfed it and paddled it. While not the best shape for surfing, it still works great on smaller waves, and when the surf gets flat, you can head out for a good fitness/touring run as well. very versatile, stable and fun.

Had the opportunity to finally take my new Carbon Hoss out on the Harpeth River near Nashville,TN. You can just tell the build quality as it pumps up. Flush seams, deck pad thickness and feel, the fabric D-Ring setup, etc. Only minor quibble is the side 'click' fins have tiny screws with a hex tool to lock them in, and the hex tool metal is too soft. It is already stripping down so I had to find an equivalent one in my tool kits to remove two of the screws. Maybe I tightened them too much. Really commendable weight for the size. Easy to carry. Paddle is sturdy. Not the lightest, but nice. Lever-lock is a nice mechanism. The shape is a great compromise for stability and speed. Much faster than my Red Paddle 10'8 I was coming from. I might have liked an additional 6-8 inches in waterline since I've paddled some 12'+ boards, but with the side click fins and a 4' river center fin I could track really well. I inflated to 17 psi but will go to 18 next time to see the difference. The carbon top and bottom mesh feels like it adds rigidity. This isn't a hard board for sure, but it is quite solid. The rear could use another set of the fabric D-rings closer to the tail to lash items further away from the centerline, like they seem to have on the Carbon Nass and Nass-T. All in all, I love having the higher quality of the Hala Gear. You can just tell it is made with more thought and longevity in mind vs. sub $1,000 boards. Also, I can highly recommend Hala for customer service. I had a unique situation that they handle very well.

I’ve tried many inflatables and this one is my favorite on flat and moving waters. The front rocker is nice for moving through rough water. It’s a nice stable board!
