Peno Inflatable Surf SUP

The innovatively designed Hala Gear Peño 2 + 3 inflatable SUP stands apart from all other river surfers. Hala Gear's patented DoubleStack™ Technology gives the Hala Peno a 2" step-down rail comparable to a short surfboard. This gives surfers the sharpest rail of any inflatable SUP, maximizing carving performance.

The nose shape (like playboat kayaks) prevents pearling the nose on steep river waves. From stomping ollies to carving hard, this spicy park-and-play SUP is a freestyle machine - bound to solidify your belief in the capabilities of inflatables!

"It's more nimble and lower to the water than thicker inflatable boards and is more fun overall. The bottom of the board has such a great hull shape, and it was thoroughly enjoyed..."

Only Quick-Release Leashes Are Safe To Use On Rivers.

- You must inspect your release mechanism and practice with it and test it to ensure it is continuing to function as inspected. Worn out shackles should be replaced - please see below!

A leash can keep you safer on the river IF YOU USE IT PROPERLY

• NEVER use an ankle leash on moving water

• KNOW where your leash and shackle are at all times

• SOME PFDs may not have a safe place to attach your leash - then DON'T USE a leash

• PULL EARLY if you see you could get ensnared

• PULL DIRECTION is crucial for release

NEVER use a leash attached to your ankle on moving water, including rivers and creeks. An ankle leash can hinder your ability to swim effectively and can be difficult-to-impossible to release, which can be dangerous and even fatal. Decide if a leash is a good fit for your paddling style and safety plan (and practice using your leash) before heading out.

When used properly, leashes and the quick-release components, including the shackle, will release a paddler from their SUP. However, when pulled the wrong direction or otherwise used incorrectly, the shackle may not release. Use Hala Gear's how-to videos to ensure you know how to use your shackle and quick-release correctly.

We encourage paddlers to practice using their quick-release leashes before each outing. Likewise, it is important to always inspect your gear for wear and tear, damage, or deterioration. Frequent inspection ensures your gear is in good condition and reduces the risk of accidents or malfunctions.

To ensure our customers and paddlers have the most up-to-date, reliable gear, we are offering replacement welded shackles. To qualify for a replacement, please fill out this form and share a photo of your outdated or otherwise deteriorated shackle.

    Surfing Security Blanket

This is the ultimate surf machine. I feel I can catch any wave or hole on this board. You can paddle or prone surf into the wave. Extremely durable and well built with a unique design that gives this inflatable an actual rail that you won't find on any other design. The only drawl back is the weight of the board. Because of its unique design I'm guessing it requires more material and thus the extra weight, but honestly is not unmanageable, but may suprise some that it's heavier than other inflatable SUPs that are much longer. I wouldn't want to paddle this board around the lake, but that's not what it's designed for. This would be a blast in the ocean, behind the boat or any river wave large or small.

    Peno on the wake.

Great for surfing behind a wake boat in Northern Michigan. Will be trying it out on Lake Michigan and Lake Superior surf when the gales of November hit… More nimble than the Playita 2+2 but more difficult to control. Like surfing both of these Hala boards to the extreme.

    My Favorite Board

I've been surfing this board for 3 years now and LOVEEEE it. I can catch almost any wave I really want. I live to take it to Staircase Wave in BV and Wave #1 and #2 in Eagle.

FUN SURF BOAT, VERY WO\BBLY OTHERWISE

HAD A GREAT TIME DEMOING AND SURFING THE HALA PENO IN THE RABBIT HOLE ON THE 4TH OF JULY WHILE WATCHING (AND LAUGHING AT/WITH) ALL THE TUBERS THAT FLIPPED WHILE CLEANING UP THEIR DRUNKEN TRASH ON THE 4TH OF JULY. SPOILS OF THE RIVER: ABOUT 40 BEER CANS, A FISHING NET, 2 GOLFBALLS, 7 SINGLE USE PLASTIC WATER-BOTTLES, 4 POPPED TUBES, AND SOME GREAT PROGRESSION ON SURFING
