Tell us a little bit about yourself

My SUP racing career began at Gore Fest in 2015.  Peter Hall was racing that day as well and right after the race he pulled me aside and told me how fast I was and that he would like me to be on the Hala team!  That was my very first race and I was hooked.  There is something very special about being a part of the SUP racing community.  No matter what board you are racing on, we watch out for each other and encourage everyone to do their best.  I have become lifelong friends with so many people I admire in the whitewater racing community.

My favorite races are the Vail Whitewater Town series.  Every Tuesday afternoon for 5 weeks, we get to see SUPs, rafts, and kayaks race on Gore Creek with people from all over coming together.  We have raced in snowstorms to wearing board shorts.  You never know what you are going to get.  The last race is a precursor to the GoPro games and we get to race against world-class athletes.  The town series is run by the Vail Rec District and they do the best job.  They offer wonderful prizes, the funniest announcers, and professional photographers!  There are no other races like it and it is right in front of Raitman Galleries where I work!  Whoever has the most fun, always wins in my book.  I have been honored to be the reigning town series champion every year since 2016.  It keeps me young and vivacious!
