Board Tech Details – We’re obsessed to deliver the best!

Glide Rocker
Hala’s glide rocker features a mellow nose rocker, a flatter middle for speed, and just enough tail rocker for responsiveness in any environment. Feel the speed. Learn more about Hala’s rockers.
Carbon Construction™
You get an elite board that performs like a hardboard with the portability and durability of an inflatable. This is not your run of the mill stringer technology. These boards have measured up to three times more rigid in flex testing than your standard inflatable. Unidirectional Carbon + Fusion Drop Stitch is combined with aramid fibers and compressed at 200,000lbs by an extremely high-end machine in California. But don’t just take our word for it, get on a board and feel the difference! Learn more about Hala’s board construction.
30” Wide
A generous 30” wide for a touring board is perfect for performance and recreational users looking for a bit more stability in a touring board, without sacrificing too much performance.

8 D-Ring Rigging Points
Triple-reinforced D-Rings provide rigging points to strap on your gear and keeps it secure as you paddle.
Leash D-Ring
A triple-reinforced D-ring is located on the back of the board to attach your leash onto. But remember, using a leash properly requires knowledge and attention.
One Front and One Back Rubber Handles
Carry this board easily with the help of a friend to and from the water while all your gear stays secured.
Foot index
Located just before the stomp pad is raised EVA on your deck pad. It is a small, centralized rectangle so you can easily step your foot back to the center of the board without ever taking your eyes off the water.
Stomp Pad
A 1.5” stomp pad allows for precise control and maneuverability of your board.
Travel-Ready Board
A board that can go anywhere, this board packs up and rolls out with you. Combined with any of our travel paddles, you’ll have the ultimate, portable setup for adventure.
3-Year Warranty
The best in the business. We’re confident about the capability and durability of our boards. That’s why we’re willing to back it with an industry-leading 3-year warranty. We’ve got your back!

Love at first site! Well more so first time hitting the water. I have hundreds of miles on my Nass. Paddle tons of lakes, rivers, streams, and even creeks. Able to due multi-day trips and haul all of my gear! Due to the race design I can keep up (or pass) kayakers no problem or go out for a quick 3-8 mile loop for training. Nass does it all and I love it! I will ride this board for life :)

Calm and flat conditions with winds under 5mph: In calm conditions the board does well but due to the side finboxes you can feel the drag effecting the glide. Once on a soft downwinder, the board travels well. Its stable, turns well, rides well and easy to take a load of equipment from spearguns, snorkel sets, beer coolers, etc. It would be a good fishing board also.

Windy: In 5-15mph, the board does well. In 15-30mph, the board drifts significantly more compared to a traditional epoxy SUP logically due to the board size above water. On a downwinder in any of these conditions, the board does exceptionally well.

Chop: Overall does well and tracks well in light to heavy chop both up and downwind

Waves: Small waves under 6 ft face, the board catches cleanly and is a very fun surfer.

Pros: Overall it’s a great product for ocean users and very versatile for nearly any user and a great board to have.

Recommendations: When its pumped up to 16-18 PSI the stiffness helps quite a bit.

Conditions: The board is holding up to the humid salty conditions pretty well so far. No delamination, bubbling or ungluing. No issues with the valve despite a quite powdery sand access. The board is stored upside down horizontally on my surf rack with about 10 psi or so. After each use, its hosed down quickly (some of the time).

Loved the Nass for my dawn patrol paddles on Lake Dillon, CO. Super Stable, Sleek and fast. Still viable for SUP YOGA when it was time to pull over in a cove and soak in the scenery. So much fun. Loved having this performance board for my flat water paddles.

This board is exactly what I have been looking for in an all around board. I paddle around Vallecito Lake, CO. Its stable, fast, and fun! I can ride solo, have a friend along, and my dog. I also purchased the attachable kayak seat for this board, it makes after work paddling around the lake easy and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this board to anyone that is looking for a speedy, all around board.

The Hala Nass 12’6″ was my second SUP board. Major upgrade from my first (from another brand.) Lots of thought and work goes into the quality of these boards. I’ve had a lot of time on the Nass 14′ as well and demoed most of the others.

The 12’6” Nass carbon fiber board is a good overall board. When I first bought it, my intention was to use it only on flat-water; I’ve taken it on Lake Dillon in Colorado many times. The sleek outline of the board allows the paddler to cut through any chop with ease. At 30” wide, it’s a bit narrower than other boards I have used so it felt a bit tippy at first. Once I was on the water and got into a good rhythm, the Nass glided with ease.

The travel bag is an upgrade from the 2015 version used in the Ha la Straight Up. It’s a softshell suitcase shape which fits the board and pump, along with an inside pocket perfect for storing fins.

This past weekend I took my Nass down the upper Colorado on a couple small class two sections. The Nass performed really well in the rapids. The carbon fiber keeps the board stiffer, eliminating the bounce I feel on my other inflatable on white-water.

Other SUPs owned: Hala Straight Up (2015 model)

The Nass 12-6 is my go to board for any type of paddling conditions. I have raced it downriver through class IV rapids, surfed on the East coast, and long distance trips on the lake. I love the speed and rigidity of the carbon Nass.

  8. 5 out of 5

This board is fast! I’ve take this board touring in the ocean, exploring wetland areas along the Colombia River, or paddling around Colorado lakes. I love using it when I’m trying to cover long distances. The carbon stringer allows the board to be stiff and rigid. It allows the board to feel like a hard board. All I do is strap my Icemule cooler or dry bag to the front tie in points and then spend the day out on the water.

  9. 5 out of 5

I love this board because one … it’s an inflatable … and two, because it’s fast! I’ve used this board for touring and whitewater racing since I’ve owned it, and it has never let me down. For touring the board is quick and has great rigging for holding all my gear. It’s the only board I would taking paddle camping. For whitewater racing, it’s stable enough to race through up to class III/IV rapids and super fast!
