Product Description

How do we create an inflatable that can shred like a surfboard and roll up into a backpack at the end of the day?

Start with a full rocker to roll out to the surf with ease. Next, slim down the rails to 4.75” for a hardboard-like ride, digging in and gripping the wave face. And the big crescendo? Our curvy new nut board shape means your nose won’t get stuck as you ride your line.

With a ding-free design and travel-ready board, you can check your bag to Maui or throw it in the trunk of a car to find adventure. Voila! Put it all in the equation and transform an inflatable into a portable and aggressive 8-foot board that surfs like a 6 footer.

Designed for the ocean, completely at home on the river. Trust us, hop on the Hala Gram.

Board Tech Details – We’re obsessed to deliver the best!

Full Rocker
The tip-to-tail rocker pulls the nose out of the water while surfing so the first point of contact occurs at the dip in the rail. Enjoy the stability, balance, and speed of this 8’ board with a full rocker surfs and carves like a 6 footer. Learn more about Hala’s rockers

Core Construction™
These board can take a serious beating and you can keep on cruising with our burly Double-Layer Drop Stitch material. How do we make our boards so rugged? The second layer of thick, liquid PVC is poured over the raw drop stitch material for the best abrasion resistance available. Burly material for a burly board on your burly adventure. Learn more about Hala’s board construction.

Nut Shape
The dip in the outline along the side of the board makes the first point of contact with the water closer to you. This gives you the ability to ollie this little surfer and increases maneuverability for a quick, responsive, fun ride. Learn more about Hala’s board Outlines..

4.75” Low Volume Rails
With the slimmest rails, you can dig into the wave and ride the rail all the way down your line while maintaining extreme stiffness and rigidity.

Swallowtail
Gives you two balance points in the tail, instead of one, so the board resists tipping. It gives a bit of more bite to your turns while surfing from the back. Learn more about Hala’s shapes. Learn more about Hala’s shapes.

8 Footer Surfs Like a 6 Footer
The combo of the Full Rocker along with our creative hourglass shape provides the perfect combo of technology to make this 8’ inflatable board surf like a 6’ surfboard.

8” center fin

Leash D-Ring
A triple-reinforced D-ring is located on the back of the board to attach your leash onto. But remember, using a leash properly requires knowledge and attention.
Foot index
Located just before the stomp pad is raised EVA on your deck pad. It is a small, centralized rectangle so you can easily step your foot back to the center of the board without ever taking your eyes off the water.
Stomp Pad
A 1.5” stomp pad allows for precise control and maneuverability of your board.
Ding-Free & Travel-Ready Board
A board that can go anywhere, this board packs up and rolls out with you. Combined with any of our travel paddles, you’ll have the ultimate, portable setup for adventure.

    :

This board shreds in the ocean! It’s stable enough to break through the beach break and it catches waves really easily. The Gram was also fun to carve, the rails engage just like a hard board. It’s also super light and easy to travel with!

    :

My initial surf on the board was on small waves 1-3 ft. The board out of the box looks great. I was very impressed with the amount of rocker in the front and the back. Great heavy duty ring to attach a leash. The pad was also nice and I like the hefty kick pad in the back. So on my first session, I was surprised how stable the board was for it’s size.

It was easy to turn and get into the wave, deck pad was very grippy . Do to the extreme rocker, there’s not much contact with bottom of the board and the water so not much glide as expected. This isn’t really a problem, just have to be at the peak of the wave to catch it.

I was able do bottom turns with the Gram, more of a finesse move on this board , can’t lean to hard on the rails and very responsive for an isup. I did try a long 9 in long board fin during my session. The center fin box is great and works with the other center fins I use on my sups / surfboards .

It was great for stability and tracking and added to to ride. The quad setup was better for turning and cutback. As for the rails, as for most isups they are very round rails , a surf rail has a harder chine so it can carve better understand this is a challenge will all isups. My guess is , given the limited deflection I noticed, I expect the gram to perform well on steep waves and should be able to take a drop on 5-6ft waves.

    :

This board was very stable, fast, and easy to paddle, and catch waves. The incut shape made it very easy for paddle strokes, clearing the board ( not hitting the rails with blade). I was able to catch waves with ease as long as there was not an off shore wind. Able to ride the green water part of the wave, in an aggresive one directional carve.
Was able to do small cut backs with this board sometimes. Fun to family surf with daughter in front. We had friends try it, who are river savvy, but not very familiar with the ocean. They were quickly comfortable on it, paddle with ease, and even catch a few small waves.
Easy to carry, good middle handle.
The colors are perfect, matching tropical water.

  4. 5 out of 5

    :

I had a great time surfing this board all over the east coast. The rockered nose lets you get out through beach break without getting tossed off the board and the narrow tail is loose and fun on steep waves. I was surprised how stable the board is despite its size and how easy it was to drop into decent sized swell. The board maneuvers well and you can actually engage the 4.75″ rails, which is unheard of for inflatable surfers. It’s also light weight and easy to travel with.

    :

I received the Hala Gram this spring just in time to catch the right water level for a personal first decent on a calm section of the Gauley River. I was thrilled to take the Gram on a downriver run to check out some surf waves I have heard are on this section. The Hala Gram was great for a short down river run with the goal of catching some surf waves
